Blog 6: Postgraduate Studies

Hi everyone!

Today's topic is about a postgraduate course, and I wrote a liiiiitle in the last blog, so today I'm going to go deep.

I would like to study something related to gender, education or linguistics.

When I was at school, I was interested in anthropology because I knew there is a branch of linguistic anthropology. And at that time, languages passioned me (today too, but I recognized new areas of interest). Then I realized in Chile there's no linguistic specialization. So, the idea of a postgraduate study came to my mind.

Also, I had been working with teenagers for 3 years in matters of gender, sexuality and feminism, so we mixed education, those topics, and new ways of knowledge. So, I’m also interested in go deeper in those areas, with anthropology. But actually, sometimes is difficult to me to see in academic way feminism, sexuality and gender, because in my opinion, it’s an experience and something to share with others.

I would like to study in Mexico, in Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM), I consider to go on an exchange the next year, applying for Santander scholarship, but coronavirus appears, and nowadays I think it’s more realistic to do a PhD or postgraduate studies, applying for another scholarship, for safety and to have a more joyful experience.

After this quarantine experience, I definitely would not study in a distance learning way, probably I would do a part-time course (to have time to work), even in a blended system, but no more online lessons ><.

Byeee, have a nice day-evening-night

  2. It is a shame that in Chile linguistic anthropology is only a subject and not a specialty:(
