Blog 7: Music
Hi everyone!
Today's topic is music! Music accompanying me
everyday 24/7. I am not sure if I have a favorite musician. My music taste is
diverse, I like pop, indie, classical, reggaeton, trap, cumbia, Caribbean
music, French music, German music, Chilean music, and a huge among of types.
The singers/bands which I listen more are Doja Cat, iLe, Khalid, Cazzu, IAMDDB,
Kali Uchis, Sam Smith, Ana Tijoux, Mon Laferte, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs,
Rosalía, Jorja Smith, Denise Rossenthal, Sara Hebe and Dua Lipa.
I like to listen to women, I used to have a
playlist in Youtube only by women (it is called “pa perrear y tomar té”), but now
I prefer to listen to music in Spotify, so I have to move my playlist.
iLe (Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar) is one of my
favorite singers, she inspires me. She is a great singer and composer. iLe is
Puerto Rican, her first approach to public music was in Calle 13 who was the
feminine voice of the chorus, in fact, iLe was invited by her brothers
Residente and Visitante. Then, she became a soloist.
Her albums are Ilevitable (2016)
and Almadura (2019). My favorite is Almadura,
the name is a pun of <<armor>> with the Puerto Rican pronunciation
and <<hard soul – alma dura>>. I love the songs Curandera and Temes from
Almadura. Curandera tells about a healer, and the drums makes you dance
instantly! Meanwhile, Temes is about a violent relationship, and talks about
rape and abuse in an empowered voice. From Ilevitable my favorites are Triángulo and Canibal.
Finally, I invite you to listen to more women,
trans, non-binary people <3 Byeee

I have never heard such a varied taste in music:o, thank for the recommendations!
